To find and fix water leaking into the passenger side of a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT, first inspect the door seals and window seals for any visible damage or wear. Check the drainage channels in the door and under the windshield for clogs. Additionally, examine the firewall and any grommets for holes or tears that could allow water to enter. Once identified, replace any damaged seals or grommets and clear any blockages to prevent further leaks.

I had the same issue with a 2001 Alero and the Oldsmobile repair shop installed some sort of deflector inside of the door. Not sure what or where exactly but that is what they told me.
I don't know if your Ranger is the same but on the 2001 Ford Explorer the 4X4 module is located behind the right front passenger kick panel
Water on the passenger side floor would be a plugged up AC drain. The drain is located under the hood, at the lowest point on the HVAC box on the firewall. However if the floor is wet with engine coolant, the heater core is leaking.
Behind the passenger side kick panel.
According to the Owner Guide it's in the passenger footwell by the kick panel
