How do you fix Trunk Release on a 2001 Ford Focus?

The dash switch on my 02 did not work. I removed the switch and when measuring the resistancethrough it, found it to be very high. Disassembled the switch and cleaned it with contact cleaner. This got the resistance down to around 2 ohms, and the release button now works.
