Remove engine, drop in nearest metal recycling bin, Replace.
These engines have so many high mileage failures that are unrepairable I recommend buying a low mileage good used or rebuilt replacement.
If you must repair:Remove engine, disassemble.Check to insure crank, heads etc are reusable.
If it turns out those components are still usable have the block machined to take replacement pistons. Reassemble with new gaskets.
"knocking" is very broad so just a wild guess here. I think the reason the knocking stops when you disconnect the number 6 injector is; you are creating a "floating piston". In other words, this piston and cylinder are no longer producing power, they are no longer under a load, and they are no longer compressing the fuel that you have prevented from being injected into the cylinder. So, if you have something wrong with that cylinder, such as a bad piston, piston pin, connecting rod, rod bearing, etc., you have relieved the pressure which will quiet the knock. Again, just a wild guess!
This can usually be accomplished in your own driveway or appartment parking space.
My blower doesn't go on when i turn it on can you tell me what is my next move to fix
Hey Michael==The problem is in the controler which is in the control pannel and it needs to be checked out. GoodluckJoe
If it's on a 99-04 Grand Cherokee you can't. You would need to buy a new window regulator.
First off, where did you get the 99 grand am strut bar?
I have a 99 grand am and I am tring to replace the brakes on the front of my car but when I go to put the brakes back on the caliper wont line up wheats wrong with this? How do I fix this?
The number 1 piston on that motor is the first cylinder on the drivers side.
i don't know if it helps, but my '99 legacy outback was making a knocking sound. turned out that the oring on the brake caliper pin had worn out, and the pin was kind of knocking around.
The head will have to be pulled and the gasket replaced. If the car overheated the head may have warped and will need to be resurfaced or replaced as well.
It is common to have a knocking or clunking noise of a 99 Nissan Altima, even after the struts have been replaced. This may be due to worn ball joints. It is best to replace the ball joints, too.
Some 99 Grand Prix vehicles will shift hard when it is warm. Not all of these vehicles will do this.
