Get a flush kit at auto parts store. it might work, depending on how well or how old the coolant system is or has been maintained over the years. ALOT of times if the coolant flow is bad after trying to flush the rad may have to be cored and reworked(the top is made of plastic and traps rust and debris...). Price; $75-$125, probably more! It cost about the same and comes with a warranty. Dealer replacement price is crazy and their warranty isn't as good. If you have the car for any length of time you will eventually run into the same problem down the line. If that is the case where it cannot be flushed your money is better spent on a new rad, preferably an aftermarket that is all metal. That was just my experience with my 90' XR7 H.O..
