PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. All car engines have a PCV valve and it is located on top of the motor's valve cover. There is a vacuum line attached to it. It pulls out of the valve cover and if you shake it, you should hear a marble knocking inside it. If you shake it and don't hear anything, it's bad. It costs less than 5 bucks to replace. * 4.0L is located in the valve cover near the brake booster * 5.0L is located behind the intake manifold (engine rear)
PVC Valve Removal & Installation # Disconnect the oil separator hose from the PVC Valve. # Remove the PVC Valve from the grommet in the crankcase. headgasket blown.also sometimes a creamy residue on oil filler cap which is a tel tel sign
The oil capacity is probably around four to six quarts. If there is white residue inside the oil cap, then that means you either have a blown head gasket, or there is water getting into your engine block.
If the oil looks whitish, there is probably water in the oil, indicating a possible cylinder head gasket leak, but water could get in other ways.
Overheating is usually caused by a bad head gasket. Check under the radiator cap for oil or milky reside. Check under the oil cap for water or white milky residue.
well simply for any car you can tell by checking the oil or the oil cap. if you see white residue on the cap or on the dipstick you got water in the oil. if you also change the oil you can see water in it. that is simply the only ways you can know. good look with your alero
yellow reside on oil cap is caused by condensation of water and sludge from inside the engine. all petroleum products have a little water in em. your engine needs a good flushing and then oil and oilfilter changes more often
That's an indication that coolant has gotten into your oil. Most probably a blown head gasket. Tow it to a mechanic. Do NOT drive it.
On the engine block you should see a large black cap. Take that cap off and put the oil directly in there. (This is for a V6 Engine). ***The opening is large enough for you to see in. I would recommend wiping the rim on the inside of the opening to check for oil residue. This way you know for sure you have the right opening.***
To remove sticky label residue, you can try using rubbing alcohol, vinegar, or a commercial adhesive remover. Apply the chosen substance to the residue, let it sit for a few minutes to loosen the adhesive, then wipe it away with a clean cloth. Repeat as needed until the residue is completely removed.
in cars you can put metho to get rid of water
Yes, you can take an empty oil can on an airplane. The oil can must be cleaned and can not have any residue in the can. The residue can be cleaned by using hot soapy water.
