A lot of parts stores will check it for free
I am sorry but you do not without the proper equipment.
It requires a scanner to properly diagnosis a check engine light.
You need to connect a OBD-II Scanner to find out.....
You can't, you must use a scanner.
The check engine light problem will have to be repaired in order to have someone with a scanner to reset it. If the repair is not made then the light will come back on immediately.
Jumping the pin connector on the ECU will allow the check engine light to flash on the dash console. The check engine light will flash repeatedly and show codes.
To reset the check engine light on a 2003 Chevy Impala, you can disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 10-15 minutes. This will clear the engine control module's memory. Alternatively, you can use an OBD-II scanner to read and clear the trouble codes, which will also turn off the check engine light. Keep in mind that if the underlying issue isn't resolved, the light may come back on.
I have a 2005 Impala as well.....I bought a code scanner when my check engine light came on....2 codes came up on the scanner...P0420 and P0420PD.....'catalyst below efficiency'....My car has 115,000 miles on it and it was time for annual safety/emissions inspection so I took it in to a shop.....The catalytic converter had gone bad and had to be replaced.....which was the reason for the P0420 code....
You must have an engine scanner to do that.
Just install the new 1 and go drive it a few miles. If you are asking how to turn the check engine light off, Then you will need a engine scanner to clear the codes. Some parts stores will do it for you FREE.
It requires an engine scanner to do that.
well, check your oil, engine coolant, and your radiator.
