Assuming you have a fuel pump on the car: - go buy the special 9/16 or 5/8 inch open end wrench used for removing flare nuts lines and remove the gas lines. Try not to bend the lines as putting the nuts back in without cross threading is the hardest part of the whole job. Remove the bolts holding the fuel pump. If there is an outward pressure on the pump while you are trying to remove it - crank the engine over a bit to take the pressure off the fuel pump arm. Watch where and how the pump arm comes out. Put about a three foot clear hose over the gas tank line and be sure you can suck a few inches of gas into the hose from the tank - not air. Put the new pump back in with a new gasket and sealer. Install the gas lines and be careful about cross threading. check for leaks from pump to carb.
Fuel injected? In the fuel tank.
