to install a pitman arm, make sur vehicle steel wheels are lined up exaxtly straigh when u park
this will allow easy replacement
now chock wheel front and back so car don't run over you
get under car and remove nut from ball joint where pitman arm connects to sterring linkage
then remove large nut from steeering box shaft where pitman arm connects
using a puler if you have one separate pitman arm from ball joint
then separate pitman arm from steering box shaft
PS if you don't have a puller or ball joint remover, usually a good wack with a hammer on the ball will separate the parts
new pitman arm usally will have a small flat spot so arm can only go onto steering box shaft in one position
install to steering box before connecting to ball joint
when you tighten nuts to secure ends this will pull both parts together and seat the arm properly
grease inserts if it has them
if front end alignment was good to start with u should not need alignment
teast drive if needed, have steering alignment done at a shop
