If it doesn't stay open by itself, the two spring-loaded rods inside the top of the truck area are faulty or disconnected.
Over current or short to ground.
The circuit is shorted to ground.
Yes
It can, if it is the full factory alarm.
15-16 gallons i just got rid of mine!! My Intrepid runs like a champ, keep up with it. Use good oil.
The hood should sustain itself by the means of a gas style shock arm on both sides of the hood. If it doesn't hold itself up then the shocks need to be replaced, which are cheap and quick and easy to install
I had that happen with my 96 intrepid, because I used the power trunk all the time. When I need to use the key, it wouldn't go all the way in or turn. So I used WD40 in the lock, and worked the key in and out until it when in easily. Then I did the same thing for turning the key. Once I got it working I used dry graphite to keep the lock lubricated after that. Hope it helps.
Check your hood alignment sensor for the alarm and the trunk sensor
To reset the computer on a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for about 15-20 minutes. This will clear the engine control module (ECM) memory. After that, reconnect the battery cable, and the computer will reset itself. Keep in mind that this may also clear any trouble codes and learned data, so use caution if you're troubleshooting specific issues.
No. It will keep running until the engine is ruined.
