Determine the amount of time it takes for three fourths of a radioactive sample of an isotope to decay?

The half-life is 4 days. That means half of it will be gone in 4 days, and that leaves half of the original sample. In another 4 days, half of the remaining half will have decayed. And that will leave only 1/4 th of the original sample. That means 3/4 ths of the original sample will have decayed. In 8 days, three fourths of a sample of a radioactive element with a half-life of 4 days will have decayed.

How do you calculate radius of a quarter in mm?

To calculate the radius of a quarter in millimeters, you first need to know the diameter of the quarter. A U.S. quarter has a diameter of 24.26 mm. The radius is half of the diameter, so you divide 24.26 mm by 2, resulting in a radius of approximately 12.13 mm.

Why is the first quarter moon phase called that?

At "half Moon" we see half of the Moon's hemisphere that is facing Earth. But "half Moon" isn't what astronomers call that phase of the Moon. It is called a "quarter Moon" phase. That's because the Moon has completed one quarter (at First Quarter phase) or three quarters (at Third Quarter phase) of an orbit around the Earth since new Moon. (Another possible reason is that we see a quarter of the total surface of the Moon at these phases.)
