The starter motor is located on the passenger side of the vehicle. You have to crawl under the truck. Once under the truck, look from the back of the transmission forward. You will see it mounted to the bell housing of the transmission, near the back of the engine. You should find an "L" shaped red-plastic cover on the starter solenoid. Please remember to remove the negative battery cable before removing the starter. There are two nuts that hold the electrical wires to the starter solenoid. Holding the starter to the bell housing, you will find one bolt at the top, and a combination stud/nut that holds on the starter ground wire. Once the fasteners are loose, I use a 1/4: drive with extension to unbolt the starter because there is not a lot of room to work...even in a big truck like an Expedition, or F150. Be patient, and be careful not to round the bolt heads, Good Luck!
