To activate the child lock on a 2002 Ford Fiesta, open the rear doors and locate the small lock lever on the edge of each door. Use a flathead screwdriver or your finger to slide the lever to the "lock" position. This will prevent the rear doors from being opened from the inside, ensuring the safety of child passengers. To change the lock on a Fiesta MK6 tailgate, first, ensure the tailgate is open and disconnect the battery to avoid electrical issues. Install the new lock by reversing the process, ensuring everything is securely reattached before reassembling the trim.
