I am currently involved with carburetor engine swap / 4L60e transmission. The transmissions original design was to run off of the original vehicles ECU. In order to make the transmission work you will need to purchase a very expensive stand alone ECU for the transmission as well as an equally expensive TPS (throttle position sensor) and all of the related bits and pieces (throttle cable; fill tube and carb brackets for example). Budget between $1000.00 and $1200.00 just for the parts and you will have no surprises.
is there a complete kit for a 4L60E transmission to work right in a non computer car? l put a new 355ci crate engine with a carburetor in my 94' silverado with a 4L60E transmission but now the transmission is working properly, it only has drive & reverse no 1st or over drive is there a electrical kit that l can need to plug that transmission into & where can l purchase it?
Yes it will fit, but it won't work... The 89 computer is not programed to the 4L60E transmission, Therefore the transmission will not shift are even work.
They are the same.
That would be the 4L60E transmission and that is the ONLY ONE THAT WILL WORK.
If that 700R4 was attached to a mechanical engine (or even a TBI engine, which only had basic electronic functions), it's not going to work... there's no engine ECM for that transmission ECM on the 4L60E to interface with.
4L60E transmission and that is the ONLY 1 that will work.
Yes
The ONLY 1 that will work in it is the 4L60E transmission.
No it will not because the96 Tahoe has a 4L60E electronic transmission in it. The 85 transmission is not a electronic transmission. WILL not WORK.
It has a 4L60E and that is the ONLY one that will work in that year.
4L60E And the only 1 that will work in that 96 is a 1996 model 4L60E
NO, not even close. In late 1999 Chevy redesigned the transmission and the engines in all there trucks. You will need to put the 4L60E back in it, I believe late 92 to 1995 transmissions will all work in the 94 model.
