On the key boot or the key remote, press the round button located above the rectangle blue button used for unlocking the trunk. The round button might have an open lock picture. Mine has worn off. Press once for driver's side. Press twice for the passenger's side. The button above the red rectangle (horn) will lock all of the doors. It may have a closed lock picture. That's how it works for my 2002 Focus.
