To open the trunk of a Chevy Cobalt with a dead battery, you can use the manual key override if your model has one. Look for a keyhole on the trunk lid or near the latch. Alternatively, you can access the trunk from the back seat by folding down the rear seats, which allows you to reach the trunk release mechanism directly. If all else fails, you may need to jump-start the battery to regain power.
Use you key to open the lock.
well, i have a Chevy Cobalt so it might be the same. There is a little lever by your left foot in the driver's side. Hope that helps :)
You car battery operate many items in your car. The neutral safety switch locks the trans in Park until the key is turned and the brake is pressed. The Cobalt has a battery in the trunk so open the trunk and lift up the cover and jump the car.
To jump start another vehicle with a Chevy Cobalt, first ensure both vehicles are turned off. Connect the red jumper cable to the positive (+) terminal of the Cobalt's battery and then to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery. Next, connect the black jumper cable to the negative (-) terminal of the Cobalt's battery and attach the other end to a grounded metal surface on the dead vehicle, away from the battery. Start the Cobalt and let it run for a few minutes, then try starting the other vehicle.
a key...Charge your battery
Does it not have a key lock on the trunk lid.
If the battery is dead it will not allow the key to return to locked position. Thus trapping you key in the ignition.
Can you not turn your ignition key to the RUN position and select the neutral position while holding your foot on the brake pedal ?
If the battery is over 3 years old, suspect it has a dead cell. It can also be that something is drawing current. Possibly a glove box light on, trunk, under hood, etc.
