I opened mine by taking out the first latch top only and doing the second one by hand.I think it was only 2 bolts and they were 9/16 . I was able to repair mine without replacing the cable. I was also able to use the secondary latch with a bungie till I took it to the garage.My machanic put it back together for me. Hope this helps
