I just had a new key made for my 05 odyssey. It costs about $120 from the dealer. I went to "Macs Lock & Key" they did it for $70.00. They had to use a programming key code harness connected to the dashboard and while punching in codes, had to alternately insert new key and original key into ignition. To answer your question, it is probably not something you can do yourself. I just had a new key made for my 05 odyssey. It costs about $120 from the dealer. program new keyswitch for 2003 odyssey
To program a new key for a 2003 Honda Pilot, you'll need to have the new key and a working master key. Insert the master key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine. Turn the key to "Off" and remove it, then insert the new key and turn it to "On" for about 10 seconds. After that, turn it back to "Off" and your new key should be programmed.
Yes it does.

How do you program a key fob to a 2003 Chevy Malibu
You can buy a blank transponder key (one that has the security chip) on any popular auction site for ~$20 but you will need to have it cut (cheap) and programmed at your Honda dealer (not cheap).
Your rotors may be warped. They key need to be refinished or replaced.

It all depends on the year. I have a 98 Accord and have found out that they can offer me a new Honda key for 15.00 and then you pay 80.00 to 100.00 to program it so your car can start with it. The dealer also offered me an after market key for 30.00 and then they read your original key's transponder and then clone it to the new key. The programmong of the key to the car other than cloning must be done with a Honda PGM tool or some other after market equivelant.Anyone who tells you that you can do a procedure like playing with the door lock buttons or swapping keys rapidly means well but thay are wasting your time. good luck.
