To reattach a hose to the transfer case, first ensure the vehicle is securely raised and supported. Clean the hose and the fitting on the transfer case to remove any debris or old sealant. Slide the hose back onto the fitting until it is fully seated, and then secure it with a clamp, if applicable. Finally, check for any leaks after reassembly by running the vehicle and observing the connection.
1 end fits on the top of the transfer case and the other end JUST clamps onto a bracket that is on the bell housing bolt. It is JUST a vent to release pressure out of the transfer case.
The transfer case fluid on a 1985 Chevy Suburban should come to the bottom of the filler hose. It must be on a level surface to accurate measure fluid levels.

Noises from transfer case
Remove all wires attached to the transfer case. Remove the driveshafts. Drain the fluid out of the transfer case. Place a transmission jack under the transfer case. Unbolt the transfer case from the transmission. Unbolt the crossmember the transfer case rests on.
I have a 2003 Highlander. Whenever I get the oil changed, the check engine light comes on within a couple of days. I finally figured out that there is a hose under the air filter case that gets disconnected when the filter is checked. Just reattach the hose and the light will reset after a few restarts of the engine.
What does a transfer case shifter motor do
Is it a 4-wheel drive ? If it is then that so called vacuum hose hooks to the VENT TUBE on the transfer case and will be clamped to a small bracket that should be bolted to 1 of the top transmission bell housing bolts. The transmission does not have any vacuum hose's on it.
The transfer case is bolted to the rear of the transmission Engine / transmission / transfer case ( front to rear ) on 4x4
You can not transfer acourt case unless yours is federal. If it is google transfer federal co.urt case
Remove the vacuum hose from modulator use small screw driver (pocket screwdriver) when hose is off you will see slots in the end where vacuum hose connects screw in or out then reattach hose and test drive may take couple of adjustments to get where you want.
