there should be a valve on the fuel rail on the engine that you release the pressure, it looks just like a tire valve.
On the fuel rail there is a cap and under it is a schrader valve. Depress the schrader valve.
On the fuel rail that feeds the injectors there is a cap. It looks like a tire cap. That will reveal a schrader valve that you depress to relieve the fuel pressure.

it isn't necessary to relieve any pressure prior to replacing the fuel filter on the 2005 Impala, however be mindfull of the gas tha is in the lines and in the filter when it comes off
relieve the pressure by removing gas cap and turning pressure release valve on fuel rail under hood. filter is under car on driver side by rear tire on the body rail. very easy to spot

The fuel tank EVAP pressure sensor is located on top of the fuel tank along with the fuel pump assembly.
It is in the gas tank.
