No you dont need any special tools to change the water pump you just need to create space around the area because its in a closed in spot and it is alot of screws to take off ..

If it's like the '95, yes. The water pump replacement is an impeller with a seal. You need a special tool to remove the one on the car and install the new one. also check the bearing and tension on the tensioner. This will save you down the road. You will notice water leaking out of the water pump specifically around the pulley area.
Engine compartment drivers side. Follow the radiator hose 2" one to the engine that's were its located. It requires a special tool to extract the water pump. I paid tweenty for mine. Without this tool it would be very difficult.
