Go to your local Advance Auto Parts / Autozone / O'Reilly and ask for the Clutch Fan Removal Tool. You will need to put down a deposit, but you get it back in full when you return the tool. There's a large wrench that goes around all 4 pulley bolts and holds them in place while you use the other wrench to break loose the fan.
What about it? Remove the fan shroud, remove the fan itself, unbolt the water pump.
loosen the idler pulley and then remove the belt. then you remove the fan shroud i believe its like 4 bolts, then you remove the fan. after that you can remove the water pump.
Disconnect the battery. Using a clutch fan tool, hold the clutch to loosen and remove it. Remove the fan shroud. Drain the radiator. Remove the water pump belt, then the pump. Install the pump and reverse the process to finish the process.
Take belt off water pump pulley remove fan from pump (4 bolts) remove old clutch from fan install new with same bolts Put fan back on.
Remove the serpentine belt, break free the fan (borrow a Clutch Fan Removal Kit from Autozone or Advance Auto Parts), remove fan shroud, remove fan entirely, disconnect hoses from pump, unbolt.
36mm wrench and a holder for the pulley. The fan is reverse threaded on a diesel.
Pull the radiator shroud, remove the serpentine belt, remove the fan from the water pump shaft, then remove the water pump.
With a 36mm wrench and a spanner to hold the water pump pulley.
It unscrews. There is a special wrench you can buy for this, or make your own.
Drain coolant from radiator Remove fan shroud Remove radiator if additional room is needed Loosen fan assembly (do not remove) Remove fan belts Remove fan assembly Bolts for water pump should be accessible now Remove water inlet/outlet hoses if necessary Remove bolts from water pump Remove water pump Clean all gasket material from engine Replace gasket and water pump
if this is a diesel, it is the easiest water pump to change remove serpentine belt remove water pump. install new pump reinstall serpentine belt pump is on front of engine just left of fan as you stand in front and look at engine
Drain the radiator. Remove the pump belt, fan, and fan shroud. Unbolt the pump then remove it. Bolt the new pump on, and install the fan an shroud. Put the belt on and refill the radiator with fresh coolant.
