Answer by feathera charging hose or air con. gauges hook hose to low side of unit open vavle bleed off freon but i don't know why you would want to do that first you should hook up gauges to unit to read how much in pounds or onces you have in it your tag on unit will tell you how mucj the compressor will hold NOW law wise it is against the law to realease freon into air the laws are different in eack state you can release a small amount like when removing hoses most units are under charged not over unless some one put in too much if you have to bleed off some freon i it can be done
