1.remove fill hose on fuel tank that goes to gas door. 2.remove 2-bolt on tank straps these hold tank in use floor jack to support tank. 3.lower tank about 6" remove fuel lines and fuel sending unit wires then lower tank. 4.top of tank were lines connect metal ring holds fuel unit into tank flat head screw driver tapping counter clockwise remove ring pull unit out pump is on end. 5. when replacing fuel pump replace seal , fuel lines at tank and filter to prevent future problems.
drop the fuel tank and it's inside. remove the retainer on top then pull out the pump from the fuel tank

Most likely inside the fuel tank. You will have to drop the fuel tank and remove the retaining ring on top of the tank and the pump/gauge/filter assembly will come out.
