Lift up the headrest to the highest position. The metal shafts have plastic rings that are part of the seat. Unscrew the rings counter clockwise around both shafts of the headrest and then pull headrest off.
Just remove the coil on top of the plug.

To remove the headrest from a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo, first, locate the release buttons on the sides of the headrest support posts. Press these buttons simultaneously while pulling upward on the headrest to remove it. If the headrest doesn't come off easily, ensure that the buttons are fully pressed in. C.O.P. ( coil on plug ). Just remove the small screw, pull the coil up, disconnect the wire, and there you go.
Usually on the drivers side, bottom of rad. But, it will be easier to just remove the lower rad. hose.
It will be easier to have your local garage do the job. The top nut is very hard to get off.
