The front hub takes a 35mm deep socket. (It is not necessary to remove the hub to change the rotor.)
First, you will be replacing the whole hub assembly. The wheel bearings cannot be serviced individually, you must replace the whole hub. 1. Remove the wheel 2. Remove the brake caliper, make sure you support the caliper so it is not hanging by the brake line. 3. Remove the caliper bracket. 4. Disconnect the ABS wires. 5. Loosen your axle nut until it is almost all the way off the shaft. 6. Remove the three bolts holding the hub to the strut. 7. Pull on the hub while hitting the axle nut with a hammer until the hub loosens. (An assistant is helpful at this point). 8. Remove the axle nut and hub. 9. Replace hub by reversing the above procedures. 10. Take comfort in the fact that EVERYONE who has ever owned an Alero has had to do this a few times.
I own a 2002 kia sportage I installed warn hubs on it . It is very easy on the 2002 you dont even have to remove the wheels . remove the center cap off of the wheel,then remove the bolts on the old hub remove old hub replace with new hub tighten bolts your done but the center cap will not fit.

Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Remove the axle nut. Remove the brake caliper and rotor. Remove the three mounting bolts from the hub and bearing assembly, note head of bolts faces inwards towards middle of car). Remove the hub and bearing assembly from the spindle. Install is the opposite of removal.
