First you need two sets of jackstands. JAck the truck enough to take the tires and wheels off. Put one set of jackstands under the frame on both sides forward of the axle. Use something like wood blocks or something to put in front of and behind front tire so vehicle cannot roll. Loosen and remove the brake line in front of the axle. Remove the four drive shaft bolts and remove the drive shaft. It just pulls directly out of transmission. Place the other jackstands under the axle and use your jack to take it up far enough to remove any loading on the springs. Not so far that you load the springs the other way. Loosen and remove the large U bolts holding the axle to the spring. Remove the lower shock absorber bolts. Again with your jack raise the axle enough so you can remove the jackstand and lower that side of the axle. repeat on the other side. There you go.
