First start in the trunk. You must remove the carpet etc, and then take off the panel that houses the fuses. Once removed, you will be able to see the bolts that hold the backseat in place. Remove those bolts and take out the backseat or at least pull it forward enough to remove the back panel where your light is by the speakers. once the rear panel is off inside the car, you will see the screws that hold the speakers. you will have to run new speaker wire to each of the speakers if you have the Bose system.
Begin by removing the cover from your rear speakers. Remove the rear speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker. The rear speakers will come out.
Remove speaker grill, remove screw holding speaker, screws to the mirror are behind speaker
Remove the rear speaker covers from your 2000 Buick Park Ave. Remove the rear speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new rear speakers.

REAR SPEAKER - JR41 Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Fold down the rear seat backs. Remove C-pillar trim. Remove lower quarter trim behind rear seat backs. Remove fasteners from rear shelf trim. Pull out trim to access speaker. Remove speaker screws. Disconnect wire harness connector. Remove speaker (REAR SPEAKER-JR41). REAR SPEAKER - JR27 Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Using a trim stick, pry the speaker grill from the trim panel. Remove speaker mounting screws (REAR SPEAKER - JR27). Remove speaker from trim panel. Disconnect wire harness connector from speaker.
Remove the covers to your 2000 Chevy Malibu rear speakers. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speakers. Reverse the process to install your new rear speakers.

If its anyhting like my wife's 2000 - you have to remove the rear seat to gain access to the grill/speaker area. There is a latch you pull outward which is located towards the center of the rear bottom seat to remove the bottom. Then you see the bolts to remove the seat back. You might have to remove some trim pieces as well. then remove the carpet covering the speakers.
