I hate to tell you this but you have to take the header loose from the manifold to get the starter out, it's a real bear to get out and back in, if you have to replace the starter I would suggest that you buy the small Chrysler starter that is offered from summit racing or Jeggs.

remove the wires from the starter and then the 2 bolts that hold it to the engine and it will come out as long as there is room without the exhaust manifolds or headers being in the way, if their in the way they have to be removed also.

remove plastic engine cover on right side of engine . on top of starter is the battery nut . remove carefully making sure the stud does not spin . then remove 2 bolts at rear of starter . gentlly pull starter out of mount .
