The battery in the 300C is located in the TRUNK next to the spare tire, under the carpeted cover. It is in a clean, cool location and has a nice battery tray to sit in. Also, if your battery is dead, you will not be able to open the trunk with your remote. There is NO KEY LOCK for the trunk. You must open the back door, pull down the seat back and crawl into the trunk to reach the internal release handle. Pull it and the trunk is open. Then prop open the spare tire/battery access lid. Disconnect the terminals using a 3/8" wrench and pull them out of he way. Unscrew the battery clamp on the bottom of the battery using a 10mm socket wrench with a long extension. Set the clamp and screw aside. Release the battery strap surrounding the battery by pressing the clip forward and loosening the strap. Do not remove it, just loosen it. Pull the vent tube on the back top side of the battery and leave it hanging there. Carefully lift the battery up and out. Make sure your new battery has this vent tube! This is how your battery breathes, and without it, it can boil over and make a acidic mess inside your trunk! The new battery will have a plastic plug in the vent hole that must be removed so you can plug in the vent tube when you set it in the tray. Install the battery clamp securing the battery to the floor. Connect the positive (red) terminal. Connect the negative ground (black) terminal. Make sure the terminals are tight. Tighten up the battery strap. Try to wiggle the battery -- it should not move at all. Tug on the red and black battery cables to verify they are tight and secure. Snap on the red plastic cover over the red positive batter terminal to prevent anything metallic from shorting against it. Put the spare tire/battery cover back in place. Test the battery by starting the car. You will get all kinds of strange alarms on the instrument cluster, but they will clear after you stop and start the car several times. You're done!
