First off, make sure you have a Phillips head screwdriver, any sort of flat tool that works like the back of a hammer (for popping the clips), and a star head screwdriver (possibly). (Note* the car I did this on was my friends 99 neon rt, but should be the same cuz they're in the same series). There should be two screws on the inside of the door. One in the the hand hold and one right behind the door handle. Remove the screws and get whatever flat tool you're using. There should be clips between the plastic (inner) part of the door and the frame (metal) part of the door. All you have to do is put the flat tool between the plastic and metal and pop the the inner door off. (Note* you will hear pops and snaps but that's expected when the clips are disconnected and be careful not to wedge the grey weathering film off the frame). Once all the clips are off, you have to disconnect it from the window frame by just simply pulling it up off the clips, easy. The next steps depend on what options the car has (power windows, manual windows, auto door locks, etc.). The first thing you should always do is find the the rod that connects the door mechanism to the door handle mechanism on the interior door. Just unclip the piece connected on the side of it and slide it out of the hole. The car I worked on had pretty much all auto options on it. All of them are disconnected in the same general way. For each mechanism, just disconnect the servo wiring plug by unhooking the latches on the sides of the plug (use a screw driver). If that doesn't work or is too hard, just unscrew the base. Do that to all of your components till the panel is completely disconnected. End of story and good luck.
Remove the back seat with a number 55T torque screw socket and then you can slide out the back panel to get to the speakers.
