How do you remove the headlights from a 2003 Chevy S-10?

There are two sliding tabs that must be pulled up to remove the headlight. You can see the very edge of them almost level with the radiator frame assembly behind the headlights. The headlight assembly has two sets of alignment tabs. The lower set must be pushed down into the slots in the frame so that the top set can be pushed back through the top alignment holes to reinstall the two plastic holders you removed. Most vehicles will allow you to reinstall the headlight assembly without the bottom tabs in the slots. This will result in the light not holding the adjusment until they finally bounce around and settle in place. While this can be accounted for with many adjustments over time, it is best to align all mounting assembly points. If the bottom tabs do not seem to want to seat, you can bend the metal out a little to let the tabs go in. If you continue to have issues, they might not have been aligned and seated correctly during the last installation and have now been adjusted down so far that the glass/plastic headlight lens might be pushing against the plastic body pieces. Adjust the headlight up so that it will allow the bottom of the assembly to go back far enough to be slid into the slot.
