the answer is unbolt the motor mounts jack the engine up gently or drop the front axle or if 2wd the crossmember unbolt the oil pan. It will be a tight fit but it can be removed with patience.. I hope this helps i deleted the last answer because some idiot answered with climb under the car and unbolt it. Be careful before you do any job your unsure of. Do your homework.
If it is a 5.9L it is easier to pull the engine to get the oil pan off. In the truck the axle is in the way.

u have to remove the oil pan , it is in the rear part of the pan and make sure u clean out the oil pan sludge before u reinnstall it and also clean out the pickup tube,
