Tools needed: Sokcet wrench;10mm,13mm,1/2, pliers Before you begin to remove the tank make sure you empty the coolant completely out of the system by draining the radiator first. Once the radiator is empty and you see the coolant tank empty, you can proceed to remove your cowl vents and windshield wipers. to remove the wipers just pull off the little rubber black piece that is at the base of the wiper. After that is removed you will see a bolt. I believe a 10mm socket wrench socket is the right size to remove those. After you remove the bolts fold the wipers up and they should come right off. Keep that 10mm socket handy because you will use it more than once. To remove the cowl vent start on the passenger side. there is a black cover pin on the upper right passenger side at the base of the windshield, remove it first and then carefully remove the rest working your way towards the left cowl vent. After you finish with the right cowl vent, do the same with the left vent. note: the cabin air filter is underneath the right cowl vent. I recommend you check it if you never had it replaced and look for built up dirt on the filter and debris and replace as needed. Remove the left cowl vent. Underneath the cowl vents there is a bar that goes all the way across the span of the engine compartment, use your socket wrench to remove the bolts and remove the bar. Now that you have the bar out of the way you can proceed to remove the tank. Take the hoses off the upper portion of the tank and set them aside note: if the hoses have a tension clamp on them you might have to use the pliers to compress the clamp and and slide it back depending on the type of clamp you have. After the upper hoses are removed you can pull the tank up enough to see the hose on the bottom. Remove the bottom hose. note: check the hoses for ware and tear such as cracks. chances are they have never been replaced and they can cause a leak so inspect hoses as well. At this point you should be able to remove the old coolant tank. If you suspect it has cracks now is the time to inspect it. To install a new tank you start off by putting the bottom hose back on first and you reverse the procedure. Be sure to move the clamps back to their right position and replace the cowl vents from driver side to passenger side. Once the new tank is installed you will have to refill your system with coolant and bleed the system to get all off the air out.
