The cost to replace valve seals on a 2008 Dodge Avenger typically ranges from $800 to $1,500, depending on labor rates and whether additional repairs are needed. This estimate includes parts and labor, with the majority of the cost attributed to labor since accessing the valve seals requires significant engine disassembly. It's advisable to get quotes from multiple repair shops for a more accurate estimate.

Just replace it, the sensor on the top of it is usually what goes bad.
A 1999 Dodge Ram does not have a water control valve.
it could be a bad egr valve....either remove and clean, or just remove and replace....you can clean it with carb cleaner, but they arnt too expensive to just replace instead
A 1998 Dodge Ram does not have EGR.
The EGR it's in the back of the Manifold. It may not get clean, you need to replace it. You would have to take the manifold off and when you do so remember where were the vacum lines. If you can do it or looks like it gets to difficult for you, it is better to reconnect everything back and take it to your macanic. It's shure a kind of difficut if you have never take off the manifold.
