This is the correct way that a DIY should replace a headlight bulb.
1. Open car hood and insert hood support.
2. On the drivers side, remove the 3 Hex screws that hold the cruse control
module. You can now move the module toward the center of the car so
that you will have enough hand clearance to continue.
3. Reach in to the back of the headlight assembly and remove the black rubber
boot that keeps the dirt and rain out of the bulb area. The boot has 2
rubber tabs to pull it out.
4. Reach into the same area and grasp the headlamp plug and pull it off of the
headlamp. Pull it off by holding the outside and not the wires.
5. This is the hard part. There is a plastic locking ring that holds the bulb in
place. This locking ring has to be turned counter clockwise to loosen and
remove it. You can just about get your fingers on it to turn it. If can't
turn it ccw with your fingers, then use a long nose pliers and grab
the outside rim and turn it. It will come off in 1/4 turn.
6. Now grasp the headlamp bulb by the plastic housing and pull it out.
7. Insert the new bulb into the socket and at the same time look
at the front of the car head lamp and see that the bulb is inserted into
the slots in the reflector lens.
8. Now replace everything in reverse order.
9. Replace the cruse control assembly with the 3 hex screws.
The passenger side is the same, but you will have more hand room so
you won't have to remove any parts to get at the bulb housing.
Remember not to touch the bulb with your hands.
Good Luck.
