HI, I think the comical answer is have your mechanic do it, I did. After disconnecting the various vacuumn hoses. the EGR valve is only held on by two bolts, the bolt that's closest to the battery isn't all too difficult but to remove it you need to have a lot of dexterity, you may want to remove the battery as it will give you a bit more room to move in. The bolt that is on the inside side of the EGR valve is one that you need to have a good flexible attachment for your socket and maybe a shallow socket. You need to give the bolts a good dose of some type of penetrating oil, I prefer Marvel Mystery Oil over WD-40, I find it gets in better and doesn't flow off like others. When you have both bolts out and take the valve off, make sure the old gasket comes off too then clean the engine block where the gasket goes. Reverse all your steps and then fix the scraped knuckles you'll have from this one. I really was serious though anout having it done. It only took him a hour and a quarter and he had a hard time. If you do it, good luck. Steve H.
