Remove belt, balancer bolt and get a balancer puller to remove the balancer. Unbolt and unplug sensor to replace it. An air impact wrench that is strong will get the bolt loose.
what can cause a 2002 buick lesabre to not crank
under the crank pulley, right side of car under front of engine
My 90 lesabre did the same thing. When it cut off after driving I sprayed water on the crank sensor and it started right back up. A buick mechanic told me to do this and this is how I found out the crank sensor was bad!
The Crank sensor in my 91 LeSarre Limited is behind the Harmonic balancer pulley....there are fins on the back of the pulley that line up with the sensor.
It's located on the block, just above the water pump
probably damaged the crank sensor, or the tangs on the harmonic balancer
I put a new crank sensor in it, and now it runs great!
its behind the harmonic balancer attached by two bolts but you must first take off the balancer to get to it
Check Autozone.com or another such sight They might have a picture. They did for the same part for my 91 lesabre. (Which may very well be the exact same part)
Actually, you don't replace the sensor itself. The crazy thing is part of the harmonic balancer, and you have to replace the whole thing.
behind the crank pulley
check the wiring goig to the crank sensors and check and see if you can adjust the gap on the outside sensor maybe its not properly connected
