First, check the fuse box and replace the fuse for the indicator lights. If the lights still do not work then replace the dash bulb itself.
The dash has to be removed. Once the dash is out, the top of the heater case comes off to gain access to the core.
If you have tiny hands you can reach up and twist the bulb holders out to replace the tiny bulbs

To change the dash light bulb in a Ford 500, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Remove the dashboard cover by unscrewing any screws and gently prying it off. Finally, reassemble the dashboard, reconnect the battery, and test the new bulb.

it depends on the vehicle, on my motorcycle i have to remove the side and front plasics then remove the dash unit, then open the dash unit and replace the bulb, then put everything back.
