To replace the gas tank on a 1999 Ford E150 van, first, ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and disconnect the battery. Raise the van with jack stands and remove any protective covers or shields. Next, disconnect the fuel lines, electrical connections, and the straps holding the tank in place before carefully lowering it. Install the new tank by reversing the steps, ensuring all connections are secure and checking for leaks before reassembling any protective covers.

I also have a 1992 Ford e-150 conversion van and it has a 35 gallon tank so I am guessing your tank is also a 35 gallon tank.
My 1992 E150 has a 35 gallon tank so I'm guessing your E150 is the same even though it is only one year newer than mine.
It's located in the fuel tank, so needless to say the fuel tank has to be drained and then remove the tank from the vehicle.
