Somebody please answer this question, I too believe I am having a problem with my sensor. Sometimes the low fuel light comes on, and the needle is on empty, but all of a sudden will shoot right back up. The truck runs fine, but I need to fix this in case it goes out for good. Sometimes the needle stays on E for long periods.
I have a 2001 and the same problem someone told me that it's a floating tank which means like when the truck is stopped then it goes down and when your driving it goes back up to normal it could be a senor or a fuel pump or a problem with the gaude itself when I find out I'll post more about it
I have a 2001 Chevy silverado and the same problem but this is the code for that it P0463 that is the part that ehat it come out when i scan on my OB2 ..

The entry level price for a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado is $23,590. This is for the base version of the Silverado 1500. There are several options that would increase this cost.

Unfortunatly there isn't one. I am actually looking for an aftermarket oil level sensor to install in my 1994 silverado.
The 2004 Chevrolet Malibu coolant sensor float is located in the radiator. The coolant sensor float replace the level of coolant to the instrument panel.
depends what year - the oil level - condition sensor is in the side of oil pan
No, you have to replace the complete tank which includes the sensor.
Although Chevrolet has produced a pickup truck since 1918, the truck never received a formal name until 1999 at which point it was dubbed the Silverado. ("Silverado" was formerly the name of a trim level that dated back to the 1965.) so it depends on if you are asking when the truck was called Silverado or when a trim level was called Silverado?
No it will not.
General Motors introduced its first pickup truck in 1930. However the term Silverado was a used as a designation to detail the higher level trim for the Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks from 1975 through 1999.
It is in the passenger side coolant tank on the radiator. If the light is on and the coolant is at the proper level then the sensor is defective. To replace it you will have to drain the radiator. Disconnect the wire and remove the clip and remove the sensor.
