Unless you are talking about the 6.4 Powerstroke then they dont have a injection pump. However on a 6.4 the injection pump is in the drivers side engine compartment. to replace the pump the cab must be lifted off the frame of the truck. It is a complicated procedure and should only be performed by trained proffesionals.
that would be the injection pump lift pump. the high pressure oil pump is also in that area
How do i replace a 81 mack injector pump
How do you replace a starter on 2003 powerstroke
how do u fit a diesal injecter pump vauxhall mavano
There can be an electric fuel pump located on the frame rail under the driver seat area but there is also a mechanical pump that is located on top of the engine near the turbo. The powerstroke uses an injection pump (sometimes called a fuel pump incorrectly). The injection pump on the 1997 is below the lid you must open in order to change the diesel fuel filter. If it needs to be rebuilt you are looking at approximately one thousand dollars so shop around it may make more sense to purchase a new one rather than rebuild.
If it is a diesel it is the lift pump, replace it before it takes out the injection pump. If it is a gasser replace it with a diesel. check the cat converter
The injection pump crank sensor is internal to the injection pump. It is not serviceable.
There is not one!
I am going to guess that it is a faulty lift pump, if that is the case it will ruin the injection pump and they are expensive. so replace the lift pump.
The injection pump was improved from the B type Bosch injection pump to the P type.
2006 f350 6.0 powerstroke. 420,000 miles. Replace injectors and ipr at 400,000
Generally there are two sources of this on an engine with a pump-style injection system: 1) The front shaft seal on the injection pump (this is if you have a fuel lubricated injection pump). This requires a pump shop to repair the pump. Injection pumps are not something you want to take apart in your garage, they have very tight tolerances and very many small moving parts that, things which are not very welcoming of dirt. 2) A bad fuel pump, if your vehicle has an engine mounted fuel pump. To fix, generally the most economical solution is to replace the pump. In some cases, the pump can be resealed. It really depends on the application.
