Hey Gary==Use a wrench on the bolt that goes through the idler pulley to raise it and remove the tension from the belt. The schematic for the belt should be on the fan shroud but if it isn't, draw a picture of the routing before you remove the belt= GoodluckJoe

It is obvious that Joe never changed a belt on a Park Ave. Assuming the 96 is the same as the 95 which I think it is, changing the belt is a pain in the back side. The belt actually runs through the motor mount. You have to support the engine with a jack and remove the motor mount. Install as indicated above and then reinstall the motor mount. It ain't easy. Took me about half a day. Some strange things in 95 with full size Buicks. The Lesabre which one would assume is the same as the Park under the hood, is not the case. The Lesabre requires removal of the motor mount to replace a water pump. The 95 Park does not. The belt is easy to repace on the Lesabre, you don't have to bother with the motor mount. The belt on a Park def. is not easy to replace. Most people are not up to the task. Suggest you use a premium belt as you don't want to do this again. Good Luck, Jim
