Most Small engines places sell them.
Remove the battery cable on the side of the starter. Then remove the two bolts holding it onto the engine. Once you have your new one just reverse those steps.
One can replace the drive belt on a Toro Lx 425 lawn tractor by reading their owners manual and learning how. A better approach may be to take the lawn tractor to an authorized Toro dealer to be fixed.

Yes but you have to hook it to the mounting bolts. You will get just as good of a ground if you hook it to the frame of the tractor. Hope this helps.
A solenoid on a lawn tractor serves as an electromagnetic switch that controls the flow of electricity to the starter motor. When the ignition key is turned, the solenoid activates, allowing current to flow from the battery to the starter. This action engages the starter motor, which cranks the engine to start it. In addition, the solenoid can also be involved in other electrical functions, such as engaging the mower deck or other attachments.
For my Lawn tractor i just unscrewed the gas cap a bit and shook the rider back and forth with my hip. I had to replace my gas cap because the breathing function of it had worn out.
jump the starter solnoid, if it will crank , turn key on and jump again, if it starts then key switch is ok it would be the starter solnoid that's bad,
A solenoid on a lawn tractor is used primarily as an electromagnetic switch that controls the flow of electrical current to the starter motor. When the ignition key is turned, the solenoid engages, allowing the battery power to reach the starter, which cranks the engine. This component is essential for starting the tractor efficiently and safely, as it helps manage the high current required without overloading the ignition system. Additionally, using a solenoid allows for remote operation of the starter from the ignition switch.
