the fuel tank has to be dropped from the car to access it.

The fuel pump relay is in the fuel pump itself, Therefore when your relay goes bad or you get a 5-4 trouble code you must replace the fuel pump.
Located in the fuel tank -have to remove for access
The fuel pump is located in the gas tank. You have to remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. The fuel pump is attached to the fuel gauge float assembly. I am not certain on that particular year but some of the fuel pumps themselves can be removed and replaced and on others you have to replace the entire float/pump assembly.

Under the back seat on right side there is a cover you remove. Then there are nuts that hold the fuel pump in the tank.

The electric fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank
To replace the fuel pump in a 2002 Jaguar X-Type V6, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Remove the rear seat and access the fuel pump cover in the trunk. Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors from the pump, then unscrew the pump assembly and carefully remove it. Install the new pump by reversing the steps, ensuring all connections are secure before reconnecting the battery and testing the system.
