I have a 93 vic that I bought that had all 4 windows that would not operate. The regulators that raise and lower the windows were a cable operated type that were in good condition. Problem; the motors would run but would not operate the regulators. There was a clicking sound in the motors. I found out that there is a clutch type overload mechanism in the drive gear of the motors that was worn causing the slipage. Once the motor is removed a quick fix can be done. 1. Remove the small screw that holds the plate where the spline shaft comes thru. 2. If yours are like mine, there is a large bull gear made of plastic with a triangle shaped hole that the spline shaft rest in. 3. You might notice that there is room around the spline shaft that is void. 4. Place (3) about 1/4" balls from an old bearing down in these holes, grease & and re-assemble the drive motor. This acts as a pawl like on a pull rope start lawn mower and the spline shaft will turn the regulator. Notice that the drive motors will now stall in the top & bottm most positions but that is ok as long as you don't keep pressing the switch after the operation cycle. Its a quick fix that works......

How do you replace fuel pressure regulator on 1985 crown Victoria?

To replace the fuel pressure regulator on a 1985 Crown Victoria, begin by relieving the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls. Next, disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the regulator, typically located on the fuel rail. Unclip the vacuum line and disconnect the fuel lines from the regulator, then remove the mounting screws to take out the old regulator. Install the new regulator in reverse order, ensuring all connections are secure before reattaching the battery and testing the system for leaks.
