My Haynes manual says this is how it's done. Open the trunk On early models, detach the trim panel and remove the nuts holding the light housing in place, then withdraw the housing from the vehicle On later models, the light housing runs the full width of the vehicle. Remove the nuts securing the taillight panel to the body. Pull the taillight panel out. On all models, rotate the bulb holder(s) 1/8-turn counterclockwise and pull it out of the housing, then pull the bulb out.
