the defrost vent should just pop out by taking a screw driver underneath the sides of the vent cover and prying it up.
What causes heat to only come out of the defrost and vent but not the floor of a 1995 S10 Blazer?
Check under hood for a broken or disconnected vacuum supply line.

Most likely a vacuum leak turn on the vehicle and listen in the engine compartment and listen for the sound of air escaping from a hose. Replace the hose and your problem should be fixed (i had this happen to my 1993 s10 blazer)
The vent door actuator is operated from the engine vacuum. If the vent control doesn't respond to your demand check the vacuum supply line from the engine, it may be damaged or disconnected. Do this before you tear apart the dash and HVAC box.
on the dash below the windshield.
The center vent, or defrost duct.
It would probably be cheaper to buy another one of whatever you dropped down there. The defrost grill will remove, it just snaps in but if the item is not visible down the defrost vent, the entire dash assembly would need to come out to gain access to the duct work.
You replace the brakes on an ABS S10 the same way you replace brakes on a non ABS S10.
my 1998 gmc jimmy has no floor heat but i have defrost and ven heat
check your vacume lines, they tend to dry rott and not hold vacume. (under the hood anlong the firewall and to your intake manifold, it your selector for vent or defrost is run off vacume, if that works and you have air coming out your vent then your heater core could be bypassed Look for a plastic vacuum storage ball. The lines to this are probably dry rotted.
