through the reserve tank which is also called the overflow tank being that there is no radiator cap!
We have a 1998 V8 Olds Aurora, and it takes dex-cool engine coolant. It is the coolant that is orange colored. Wouldn't your small manual tell you the correct coolant to use?
its located under the reserve tank...and if that is not working and you are for sure the you will have to replace the whole tank by dealer or maybe find on-line somewhere!

On a 1998 Lincoln Continental : The thread on cap on your engine coolant reservoir is the pressure cap / radiator cap . The engine coolant reservoir is in your engine compartment , towards the passenger side of the engine compartment
Trouble code P0118 means: Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input Replace the coolant temp sensor
Should be located in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose Is at lower radiator hose, not upper Drain about 1 gallon of coolant from the radiator Remove this housing Note how thermostat is installed Clean both surfaces Replace thermostat and gasket Reinstall housing Re-fill coolant slowly to prevent an airlock Start engine and look for leaks Run engine to normal operating temperature with heater on Re-check coolant level
On my 1998 Aurora with a 4.0L V8, the water pump is on the driver's side of the engine. It is right at the top of the engine.
Tha alternator on this car car is very hard to see and to get to to replace. On the front of engine, down low between the radiator and engine, above the A/C compressor.- techJK ----------------------------------------

Drain coolant, disconnect the battery. Disconnect the coolant line, replace the thermostat with a new one. Do not forget to replace the gasket too. Reconnect the line. Refill coolant, connect the battery.
