To replace the fuel pump on a 2006 Chevy Impala, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal and relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls. Next, access the fuel pump by removing the rear seat cushion and the fuel pump access cover. Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connector, then unbolt and remove the old fuel pump. Install the new pump by reversing the steps, ensuring all connections are secure before reconnecting the battery and testing the system.
