its a in tank fuel filter replace the sock on the fuel pump
On Dodge Dakota it is integral to the fuel pump module and located inside the fuel tank. The filter itself is not serviceable or replaceable. To replace the filter, you must replace the entire fuel pump.
I was told by the dealer that the 2002 Dodge Neon does not have a servicable fuel filter.
filter located on top of fuel tank
The filter is integrated into the fuel pump module, located inside the fuel tank. To replace the filter, you must replace the entire fuel pump module. (not one of Dodge's more intelligent designs) To replace that module, you must first either remove the fuel tank or the truck box.
Not positive, but it may be in the tank on the newer ones.

The filter is located in the pump outlet pipe above the fuel tank. Most often the tank needs to be lowered to replace the filter.

The fuel filter is located in a canister in the engine compartment. It is located under the brake booster and master cylinder. You simply unscrew the cap and remove the filter.
